The name Montblanc was born in Hamburg, northern Germany, in 1906, when the very invention of the fountain pen dating was 20 years old. Initially, the plant had a modest name: Simple Filler Pen Company. Even so, its founders – the merchant Claus-Johannes Voss, the banker Christian Lausen and engineer Wilhelm Dziambor – had proposed nothing less than to produce “the best pen of the world.”
